Debating the issues

The ICC has now been in operation for more than a decade, and not without controversy. Major powers like the US, China and Russia refuse to ratify the Rome Statute, and some African governments accuse the ICC of bias (as most of its cases are in African countries). There are disputes to regarding as the ICC’s impact. Is it deterring war crimes? Is it bringing justice to victims of mass atrocity? Read these short articles:
